Villa Jubilee is primarily the home and extended-family meeting place and residence of its primary designer and builder. Over 18 years of full-time labor were devoted to the designing and building of a perfect entire-family gathering place which could also be used for other purposes, purposes primarily aimed at honoring and presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to friends and guests. Indeed, the focus was to create a beautiful family residence where the residents could host events and conduct activities to the full extent of their desires as a ministry of their faith in God.
The result of years of devoted labor has allowed Villa Jubilee to not only be the perfect family residence, but to occasionally serve as a unique Christian-based retreat and event center, a place of "welcome" and hospitality where the primary goal is presenting and honoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It has also become an ideal film or photo shoot location for all types of organizations, event venue (intimate small family weddings, house concerts, or small family reunions), and gathering place. And, of course all of the foregoing is enhanced because Villa Jubilee is located on 200 beautiful and hike-able acres in southern Colorado.
The many-year design and building process was required because of the construction focus. Hours were spent harvesting native rock to rock-face the building and a low-profile Italian-like home was created on the cliff so that the villa looks like it grows out of the rock. Foreseeing the ideal desires of family and guests, each large and comfortable bedroom has its own bathroom. There are many areas and specific designations for individual or small group contemplation, group meetings for a variety of numbers, and entertainment. The extraordinarily efficient kitchen design—as noted by professional observers—accommodates everything from one or two people to large groups.
Keep in mind, this is a family residence and it is the home of the one who primarily designed and built it. Thus, any use whatsoever of the property must be scheduled in advance. Once scheduled for example, for photo shoots, its primary photographic asset is that it is a "one-stop shoot." It includes striking architectural details, artistic whimsy, stunning natural light (120 windows!), ample room for large photographic equipment, a generously sized circular driveway for production trucks, quirky Moab-like rock formations, meadows, mountains, views from the property, complete privacy, and wildlife. Few other locations offer so much all in one place.
